Out of hours support with Beacon View Live

At Beacon View we want to support you as much as we can, whenever possible.

Our research has shown that not being able to speak with your vet during the night is one of the biggest concerns for pet owners. That’s why we have created Beacon View Live!

Support from YOUR vet when you need it most

Once we have closed the surgery for the day you can still speak to us about any concerns directly via video chat. We will be able to discuss your concerns, advise on how serious a situation may be, and whether you should seek emergency care from our out of hours partner. Many worries about your pet can be answered over video chat and provide you with peace of mind at a worrying time.

Beacon View Live will be launching soon!

How does it work?

A Beacon View Live call works in the same way as Skype or FaceTime call. Everything happens through our website, so you don’t need to download additional software or apps. Once you have clicked the button to start a call you will be guided through each step before being connected with us. Your device will need to be connected to the internet and have a webcam.

When is Beacon View Live available?

Beacon View Live is available Monday to Friday from close until 11pm. You can start a call by visiting our website.

How long does a consultation last?

We allow 10 minutes per call, but if we need more time we can extend the call.

Are there any limitations?

This service is only available for registered pets that we have examined within the last 12 months. Under RCVS guidelines we are not allowed to diagnose conditions or prescribe medicines but we can offer you honest and familiar advice; giving you peace of mind when you need it most.

What if I don’t have a webcam?

If you don’t have a webcam you can still call us through the website, but it will be harder for us to advise without being able to visually examine your pet.

What if there is a problem with my connection?

We ask for your phone number so we can call you back in the rare case that you experience internet connectivity issues.

What happens if my pet needs to go to the emergency vet?

A clinical record is made of each call. These notes, along with a full medical history will be forwarded to our out of hours provider. This provides great continuity of care as the out of hours vet will be able to see the full medical record, what the concern is, and what has been recommended. By not having to remember the dates of treatments or the names of drugs you will have more time to focus on your pet, and be confident that you haven’t forgotten any important information. We forward all records of video calls to our out of hours provider as standard in case your pet's condition deteriorates overnight and you need to go there.

Not all vets are created equal. Be part of a practice where your pet is treated as a member of the family, and you are considered a partner in your pet’s care.
