From the very start we designed Beacon View to be a Cat Friendly Clinic, to minimise stress and meet the specific needs of our feline friends. Our efforts were awarded the highest gold standard ISFM award.
This is an internationally-recognised accreditation and certifies the practice meets rigorous standards set by the ISFM. We are ecstatic that our dedication to cats has been recognised, and we are the only vets in the Deal and Sandwich area to have been awarded gold cat friendly status.
At Beacon View we understand that cats have very specific needs. Cats not only have a range of diseases which are completely unique, they also have very different temperaments to their canine cousins and should be handled and treated in a different way.
Taking your cat to the Vet can be stressful for both you and your cat. That’s why at Beacon View we have taken every possible step to minimize stress. We have a cat only waiting area and dedicated consulting room, so there are no doggy smells to be worried about. Our team are Fear Free trained professionals, experts in cat friendly handling and care.

I decided to move my 16½ yo Jack Russell Terrorist to Beacon View having become disillusioned with my vet at the time, whose receptionist asked me "What's the animal's name"! Harri on reception at Beacon View is incredibly friendly and helpful, the practice is well laid out (and thoughtfully so) and Sorrel was very empathetic to my wonderful pet, thorough, and so good with him (he hates vets!) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and would actively encourage pet owners to switch. A breath of fresh air - I'd forgotten what it was like to have a good vet.

Beacon View is unlike any veterinary practice I have ever been to. Whenever I have taken my dog there the staff welcome us as we walk in and take interest in my dog which is so helpful. The waiting room is very comfortable and relaxing. The vets explain everything in language I can understand and are so kind. My dog recently had a very serious condition necessitating an operation which was dealt with by the staff at the surgery with kindness and professionalism. I continue to be incredibly impressed with Claire and her team. We joined the practice back in March and both our feline friends are members of the Beacon View Vet Pet Club. Claire has a magical touch - I don't know how she does it, but both cats turn into cooperative and humble creatures, when they're with her (not always the case at home). Everyone in the practice has been kind, warm and very responsive. Whenever I have a question or a problem, Claire is there to reassure me and offers immediate check ups, so I can put my mind at ease. Lily has been through hell, having recovered in the recent months from being hit by a car last year, so she's very special to us. Only last week we had a scare after I found a strange lump on her chest. Claire made a swift decision to remove it and check it out - luckily it wasn't malignant and we all sighed with relief. Lily is behaving as if she never had the surgery and the post-op wound is healing nicely. I could praise Claire and her team all day, but to summarise - I couldn't wish for better vet care for my two cats. Thank you, Beacon View Vets!
