Grass Seed Season

Speak to a vet

Claire Smith, Vet

Dolly experienced a sudden soreness in her ear after playing in the garden this morning. On examination we could see part of a grass seed right next to her ear drum. We needed to sedate her so that we could remove it safely without damaging the ear drum. She had enjoyed a cheeky chipolata before her appointment this morning so we arranged the procedure for this afternoon so that we could ease her discomfort as fast as possible.

Did you know that we are the only local independent vets in the Sandwich and Deal area that are always open on Sundays?

You can help prevent grass seeds from causing issues by checking your dogs coat, particularly the ears and feet of longer haired dogs, after a walk and removing any before they puncture the skin. Please check your pets after walks and call us if you have any concerns.
