Amelia

Amelia always knew she wanted to work with animals, having been fascinated by them from a young age. Her career began in rescue, where working closely with the nursing team and her interest in anatomy and physiology inspired her to pursue veterinary nursing. She qualified as an RVN in 2011 and has since gained experience in a wide range of settings, including charity, hospital, and emergency care, and even a little equine and penguin nursing along the way.

At Beacon View, Amelia enjoys the variety of procedures and clinics, and most of all the feeling of making a difference to pets and their families. Her main areas of interest are emergency and critical care, as well as feline behaviour and welfare. She loves the challenge of understanding cats’ wonderfully complex minds.

Outside of work, Amelia enjoys horse riding, scuba diving, and going to live music. At home, she shares her life with two mischievous tabby-and-white cats Logie Bear and Sir Antonio Bandito!
