What a year 2022 has been for Beacon View! Throughout the year our team continued to innovate to make improvements to our service and facilities. All whilst helping to improve the health of thousands of pets, and performing hundreds of live saving surgeries.
These are just a few of our highlights…
Early in the year we were proud to be nominated for both PetPlan Practice of the Year and the FSB Start Up of the Year. In March we went to two fantastic award ceremonies to collect our VMA and Hospital Design awards.
In April we were so excited to launch our Keyhole surgery service and completed our first laparoscopic spays as a practice! The patient benefits from keyhole surgery have been amazing to see and the team has loved developing their skills further. 2023 will see us expanding the keyhole spay service to cats and also offering cystoscopy and rhinoscopy for our patients.
In May as a team we collectively ran, swam, cycled and walked 500km to raise funds for VetLife, a charity close to our hearts. We also had an amazing team workshop learning more about our strengths as a team and utilising our skills together.
In July and August we welcomed our new client care assistants, Heidi, Abby and Lucas to the team! Nurses Meg and Gemma also took on new nursing leadership roles to help us solidify and expand our services. The whole team enjoyed a weekend outing to Go Ape and Cafe Des Amis to celebrate our success as a team!
In September the lovely Hayley started her Veterinary Nurse training after receiving a First in her Masters degree! We had a lovely surprise when the practice was awarded the Vet Dynamics Inspiring New Practice Award. We also became accredited by the Good Business Charter for our responsible business practices. Christine started her maternity leave and we welcomed our first practice baby to the team!
In October we launched our out of hours video vet service for registered clients in partnership with VidiVet, being one of the first practices in the country to do this. The wonderful Julia joined us and brought her infectious enthusiasm to the team!
As we moved into November and December Anett joined the team as a Student Veterinary Nurse as we were inspired by her passion and drive. We also launched our bespoke client app which gives you easy access to your pet’s medical information. We rounded the year off with our Christmas party and it was so much fun to celebrate the year together as a team!
